I cant eat anything that I’ve ever had as a pet, so I could never eat horse. To each their own. I do have to correct you on one fact tho. North America does not raise horses for slaughter, China is were most of the meat comes from. Most of the horses that are slaughtered when their monetary value as Ex-racehorses, riding horses or work animals is low, but their owners can still make money selling them for horse meat.

I’m american and I think eating horse is totally acceptable!!!! its healthier than what we eat and probably tastes better so whats the big deal? EAT WHAT YOU WANT… amazing julia “misschievous” can be a pretty skinny woman while we eat ourselves to obesity with bacon and cheesburgers. YAY FOR HEALTHY CHOICES!!!!!!!!

who cares wat other people say. I love ur cooking videos I hope to see more in the future !

  • TheVioletKat:

Hey, love your salad dressing recipe. I am going to try that soon because I have most of the ingredients already. I’m vegetarian but I would make this general meal for my boyfriend. Looks lovely.

I have also been on a healthy lifestyle journey and have lost 15 lbs so far…I’m not on a specific “diet” but am simply eating all whole foods, following proper portion sizes and doing lots of walking and yoga. You look stunningly beautiful and very healthily slim. Thanks for sharing! :)

  • jessiib12:

By the way, that was in Julia’s defense. And that salad looks so amazing!

I just have to say, I think Americans are such hypocrites when it comes to “taboo” meats. Mind you, I’m an American and a vegan but it boggles my mind when people are appalled at the consumption of horse or dog but not cow, chicken or pork. What makes horses or dogs so much more special or less worthy of killing or consuming. Different countries and cultures around the world eat all different types of meat, even the “cute” animals. Just my two cents.

    great video!!!

  • katznspillz:

Thanks for the video! I am also on a low carb diet so your cooking videos are very helpful for me. The salad dressing looks delicious, I will be trying it soon!
Have you ever tried to make low carb chocolate? I really miss it and would love to see a video on how to make it.

    mustard in a tube? badass!

  • doriosity:

I think the way she’s eating is absolutely fine because it works for her, she’s not asking us to copy her recipes and eat exactly the way she does, she’s merely allowing us to see how she eats, what she eats, and how she prepares her food.
Reality is, even with all the “mistakes” she’s making, this diet is working for her.
I think it’s a little bit rude that everyone’s making such a big fuss about it.

  • puttputtroundabout:

ive never had horse. what does it taste like? is it more tender than beef? seems interesting

  • MrsAlchemist:

Hi Julia! Thanks for this inspiring video! I live in Germany and I eat also horse meat because it’s like you said healthier than others. But you can’t get it in supermarkets, you have to go to weekly markets etc. Please make more “recipe-videos” :) )

  • librakitten16:

Yum! I don’t think we can get horse meat here in the UK but I’m sure this could with any other meat depending on personal preference! And I love prawns (shrimp) :)

  • violetflame03:

    Great video!

  • Cherrypie1312:

Great video! But I live in Germany and I was shocked when you said that in Europe we eat horse meat. I have NEVER heard of anyone eating horse steaks here but maybe it’s different in Switzerland. I think it’s horrible when people eat horse meat.

  • sanniebuck:

PLEASE don’t give up on your cooking videos – they are fantastic and so very inspiring! Thanks for your honesty and transparency – it’s all a matter of cultural perception after all.

  • stpfarms:

O no! Please keep making cooking videos for us! I love them and I think many people find u so inspiring and helpful! Thanks for all the work u put into the videos :)

    The Oil is from “Migros”
Das Öl ist von der Migros :D

  • AleciaAnne27:

@TheThirdShift I can totally understand that you feel that way. I would too! People totally disregard all the efforts you put into making these videos. Especially when your cooking and trying to film yourself doing it! I hope you continue to make these videos, because I for one really enjoy your recipes. Actually I enjoy all your videos, and I’m thankful for everything I have learned from your tutorials!

  • TheThirdShift:

@AleciaAnne27 I’m starting to feel that way too. I’m not here to argue with people what is healthier than something else, I’m just sharing how I eat personally. It’s depressing that people want to make this into some battle of who can be healthier, and makes me think of not making any more cooking videos at all. My goodness! Some people can be such killjoys.

  • AleciaAnne27:

I’m a little annoyed at peoples comments on this video. We all asked Julia to make these cooking videos, and I feel like with everyone putting in their 2 cents about the products she chooses to use may discourage her from even doing these videos for us. I’m sure she has researched the products she’s using and obviously it’s working well for her. These vids show what SHE eats no one says you have to use all the same food items she does. So please back off and be thankful for these videos!!

@TheThirdShift with regard to the honey you are better to eat pure sugar if only in a small amount. Honey has some many good properties health wise and the sweetner no matter how pure is still a processed product there for the toxins from preservatives will only harm you and not help. Now this is only my opinion but my husband is losing weight at the moment and his health care professional rules out all use of sweetners and use honey instead and it is far more natural.
